  • You will be part of the Advanced Radar Solutions team in San Jose, California building next-gen automotive radar and self-driving perception technologies using advanced machine learning techniques.
  • AI / ML Research Responsibility : Work with Engineering teams across the world to develop proof of concept end to end AI solutions including real world data collection and annotation, self-driving environmental simulations using industry leading tools, database management and analysis, AI model design, validation and deployment.
  • Apply your machine learning knowledge to solve cutting-edge automotive radar challenges such as 2D and 3D object detection and classification, scene understanding, semantic and instance segmentation as well as model optimization.

    Apply your hands-on software engineering and development skills to optimize and benchmark AI models using various tools like custom IDEs, compilers and SDK for NXP embedded SoCs.

  • Project Leadership Responsibility : Apply your project management skills to execute innovation projectsLead and take ownership of innovation projects and be accountable to internal and external stakeholdersInnovation proposal generation and project execution, including technical specifications, goals and milestones.
  • Interface with external research partnersResponsible for the administration of the life cycle of external research contracts and data privacy law handling issues

  • Work with NXP hardware SoC architects and help design the next generation of NXP automotive processors.
  • Work with NXP software team to assist productization.
  • Qualifications :

  • Hands-on skillsAI / ML Specialty : ML frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, and OpenCV including visualization tools like Tensorboard and optimization tools like TFliteUbuntu or any Linux based OSPython, C / C++, Linux shell scripting including software development tools like Git, any IDE of choice.
  • Robot Operating System (ROS)ML Cloud services like AWS or AzureExperience with CUDA, OpenMP or OpenCL is a bonusExperience with Autonomous Driving Simulators like dSpace is a bonusSignal Processing specialty : Matlab

  • Knowledge baseAI / ML Specialty : Modern machine learning and AI principles and programing modelsExperience with state of the art neural network architectures (CNN, LSTM, Generative models, MLPs)Signal Processing Specialty : FMCW radar signal processing techniquesDSP, advanced linear algebra, detection and estimation theories, array processing, and modern sparse estimation techniques
  • Strong programming and debugging skills
  • Proven innovation project management experience including proposal writing, planning, budgeting, contracting, and execution is a plus.
  • Strong communications, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Highly self-motivated and enjoys solving difficult challenges
  • Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields with 8 12 years of related work experience in AI and ML algorithm development.
  • Experience in automotive radar / ADAS or autonomous driving industry will be preferred.

  • Proven research experience (paper publications, patents) in AI / ML and signal processing algorithm development
