The Lead Data Analyst will report into Experian Marketing Services Analytics team and lead a team of data analysts in support of analytics.
The Analytics team builds and maintains Experian Marketing Services’ multiple data products and works directly with clients to execute solutions for client specific needs.
In addition, our team works on innovation efforts to support both generic products and insights that may be customized to fit client specific strategies.
The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving overall Analytics business goals. Working in partnership with Custom Analytics, Product Analytics, and other teams to achieve and short and long-term sales objectives for the business as determined by the Business Line.
The role leads in driving forward Analytics strategy across a Business Line, Countries or Region.
Key Responsibilities / Activities
Lead Data Analyst team that performs exploratory data analysis to confirm data integrity, and applies model development, advanced data mining techniques, business intelligence and time-series trend analysis to generate analytical products or solutions.
Develop the strategic plan for the Data Analyst team that is aligned with Analytics and Business Unit goals. Provide input to the business to ensure Data Analyst and Analytics team objectives are aligned.
Drive operating performance to achieve efficiencies and revenue targets.
Diagnose data and analytic issues that have potential impact on the business, and address before they become problems.
MANAGEMENT & TEAM LEADERSHIP
Leads Data Analyst team members in their respective roles to accomplish assigned tasks.
Interprets analysis results, identify trends and issues, and recommend alternatives to support business objectives.
Ensure optimum balance of resourcing and the deployment of effective recruitment, development, and talent management practices to retain high performers.
Encourage a culture of personal development ownership’ across the team ensuring that everyone has regular performance reviews, career conversations and a structured personal development plan.
Deploy an effective communication strategy to encourage employee engagement and enable a two-way exchange of key information i.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND INNOVATION
Works collaboratively with Analytic Consulting to provide analysis that can be presented to clients based on defined specifications
Oversees the development of creative and productive solutions using a combination of data science tools in areas of profiling, targeting, segmentation and other analytical techniques
Develops and implements new procedures for project development including creating technical specifications, checklists, and standard operating procedures
Leads the development of process improvements for analytical processes in support of business and innovation goals.
Attends and leads discussions during Analytic Meetings and Team Info shares
Is familiar with key recent advances in analytics and database
Develop and work towards individual development plan.
Seek feedback to improve skills, knowledge, and competencies as part of the feedback process.
Adheres to the highest ethical standards, and is highly aware of data security and privacy
Ensures best practices for utilizing Experian and client data and producing new insights are embedded
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Economics or equivalent
10+ years’ experience performing data analysis, particularly using cloud computing services such as AWS, Snowflake etc.
Substantial experience of statistical / analytics project work that demonstrates expert-level knowledge of analytical methods such as model development, problem solving, and other statistical techniques
Expert knowledge of Python required; knowledge of SAS, R, Spark / PySpark, Alteryx or SPSS is a plus but not necessary
Significant experience applying SQL in relational, and non-relational databases, particularly for processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools (Tableau preferred)
Familiarity with machine learning tools and concepts (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Scikit, Feature Engineering) strongly desired
Experienced PC user with good working experience of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Fluent speaking and communicating in US English language.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and client stakeholders.
