Team description : The Corporate FP&A team is responsible of driving company-wide planning, reporting and financial strategy to help the business meet or exceed our goals.

Our team covers the areas of Bookings, Revenue, Spending / P&L, Cash Flow and Long-Term Planning, with a distributed team located in Costa Rica and stakeholder located in the United States, Costa Rica, and India.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial analyst. Your scope will span multiple impactful areas, including long-range financial planning, strategic financial analysis and partnering with Directors & Executives to enable VMware’s growth while keeping spending discipline.

You will provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to the VMware leadership team and build upon existing processes to help our team drive toward our desired business and financial outcomes

Core Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted Finance advisor that builds strong partnerships with GnA leaders, advise on operating investment opportunities, trade-offs, resource prioritization, risks, all with a mind-set to optimize the company’s ROI.
  • Drive accountability to financial commitments

  • Leverage data analytics to initiate & lead operational expense decisions by analyzing cost drivers, manage deep-dives into spending categories to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Translates analysis and results into actionable recommendations that support decision making through clear presentation & communication.

  • Annual and long-term planning. Responsible for financial planning covering operating expenses and headcount. Work with multiple business partners, develop an understanding of their business and translate that into operational and financial information
  • Delivery of high-quality managerial reporting & process improvement. Delivers for the company’s managers to successfully run the business.
  • Develop metrics to monitor the health of the business and implement action plans. Synthesizes financial data into meaningful information.

    Knows how to tell the business story.

  • Required Skills :
  • Degree in Business, Finance or related fields, MBA degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis roles with a strong record of career progression, at a large multinational corporation.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams, knows how to reach out, connect & partner with senior managers and above
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis capabilities
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated person with a desire to learn and to grow in a fast-moving environment.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, Experience in SAP, Hyperion, and Power BI
  • Desired Skills :

  • Strong and independent thinker and influencer
  • Confidence in talking with senior leadership / VPs
  • Track record of showing finance leadership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
