The Simulation Engineer is the person who works building process specific dynamic simulation models, participates in building simulation material and energy balances on a steady state basis validate customer delivered information as PFD-s, historical values, steady state simulation models, etc.
determine modelling simulation strategies and equations.
Identify the process and unit operations by reading and interpreting customer provided data, including Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, steady state models, and historical data.
Build simulation material and energy balances based on customer information.
Develop medium and high-fidelity dynamic models using DeltaV, Mimic, HYSYS, DynSim, VMG, etc.
Carry on integration tasks between the simulation model and DCS configuration. Create instructor graphics and scenario configuration as defined in project DFS.
Create basic programming and logic to meet a project’s need in areas such as writing calculation block scripts.
Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, Tech Leads, peers and customers.
BS degree in Chemical engineer from an accredited university.
Have at least 1+ years of technical experience related to Industrial Automation and Field Instrumentation.
Knowledge of unit operations, steady state processes, process control and safety systems.
Basic understanding on how to read P&IDs and equipment datasheets.
High intermediate English proficiency.
Must be driven by objectives and goals achievement.
Basic programming knowledge.
Willing to travel for short and long periods of time as required.
Collaborative skills, detail-oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical capabilities and excellent problem-solving skills.
Proven previous simulation modelling experience (dynamic simulations is preferred).
