Junquillal is a very important breeding in Pacific Costa Rica of endangered leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea), black (Chelonia mydas agassizii) and Loras (Lepidochelys olivacea) area.
Looking mitigate poaching of turtles and get increase the welfare of the local population Junquillal, Life verdiazul Association takes up the conservation project of Pacific leatherback turtles (CBP) to ensure optimal conditions for nesting turtles through active conservation community support.
Possible tasks for the volunteer :

International and local volunteers stay at the volunteer house from the project, in the VERDIAZUL Headquarters in Junquillal, near the beach.
The placement has all services including Wi-Fi access. If the group becomes big, more than 10 volunteers, local hotels could be the option as well, it always depends on the availability.
Vegetarian food will be available. 3 Meals per day are provided.

This beach is less developed, with three kilometers of white sand, coconut trees and pastures. Playa Junquillal is located in downtown Guanacaste Costa Rica.
There are many hotels and restaurants for elegans. Playa Junquillal is a small hidden paradise and the pacific coast of Guanacaste.
All readings can still see the magnificent sunsets on the horizon!
This is an ideal beach for a quiet stroll along the shore, or admire the sunset at the end of the day! In Playa Junquillal, you can find a lot of fascinating excursions, and there are many! A nearby tourist attraction is the Las Baulas National Park, in Playa Grande, next to Tamarindo.

Our organization is an active full member of the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE), a federation of more than 40 intercultural and IVS organizations located in the five continents.
ICYE Headquarters are placed in Berlin, Germany. The federation of ICYE has been recognized as International Peace Messenger by the United Nations.
ACI Costa Rica has developed partnerships with other networks and programs such as : The Committee of Coordination of International Voluntary Service (CCIVS), associate to UNESCO, The Alliance of European Organizations (ALLIANCE), Volunteering Matters from United Kingdom (VM), VolontEUROPE, Weltwärs from the German government, and ERASMUS + from the European Union.
The experiences we promote are mainly focused on incoming and outgoing programs, involving long and short-term periods, for groups and individuals.
These programs are managed in cooperation with our local Costa Rican networks, partner organizations and communities such as : The Federation of Social Organizations (FOS) and YO ME UNO from the private initiate, and others.
