HUGE IMPACT OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead a significant portion of our Verticals Initiative. This role reports into the Vice President of Buyer Experience Engineering.

This role has great customer and financial impact, with high visibility in the organization. We are looking for a leader with expertise to lead full stack teams, influence the e2e strategy and execution across the company.

This leader will work closely with several engineering leaders and executive teams. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in engineering leadership & management roles, and interdepartmental collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Layout and deliver the long term vision and strategy for building the capabilities and application platform to enable the verticals initiative

Define engineering vision and roadmap for the teams to drive growth and engineering velocity

Work with various leaders across the company to influence the future of the verticals platform, while delivering the ongoing business objectives

Customer-first focus, passion for delivering great products and drive for results

Identify and improve operational, process and execution inefficiencies within and across teams, challenge the status quo and bring in required changes

Mentor and grow an energetic, diverse, and driven team with a good mix of talent across levels

Recruit and build great engineering talent, motivate and inspire them to do their best everyday

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

15+ years of software development experience

7+ years of experience in managing and leading a large engineering organization including architects and other managers

Experience working on large scale distributed systems

Excellent cross-group collaboration, negotiation and communication skills

Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced environment

Partner with Product Development Managers and partners from remote locations

Understand the business goals and metrics, and enable your org towards achieving these goals

Ability to think big picture while focusing on details

PREFERRED

Passion for designing and building very large-scale distributed systems

Proven ability to earn respect, trust and influence from people you work with and to mentor top technical talent.

BS / MS in information technology, computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience..

Should have held a number of different leadership positions over your career so far and figured out how to scale teams and platforms for high throughput and efficiency

Able to set high standards and have demonstrated the ability to build and lead a high-performance team
