The Instructional Designer applies adult learningtheories and instructional design methodology to design and develop instructionally soundtraining products for instructor-
led and e-learning training focusing on theneeds of the adult learner. They will assist in managing the processes ofconceptualization, planning, development and production for learning solutions.
The Instructional Designer may also be responsible for the design, andproduction of other learning related collateral (product demos, tutorials,simulations, job aids, etc.
They can also be involved with the maintenance andupdate of existing media. A high level of creativity, but also the ability tomodify and integrate based on feedback, is essential to success.
Accountable for sustaining a high level ofacumen across the organization’s learning portfolio, and value proposition;stay informed on industry trends, and on new and emerging practices of learningtechnologies to drive innovative learning solutions.
Design, develop and implementhighly effective, results driven curriculum to support the learning anddevelopment needs of internal clients;
ability to develop compelling andengaging training materials for live classroom, virtual and eLearning trainingdelivery that enhances retention
Create supportingmaterial / media (audio, video, simulations, scenario based, games etc.)
Develop concepts and designsfor assigned projects based on objectives, audience, and other parameters thatroutinely surpass client expectations by taking solutions beyond the initialrequirements
Develop and manage productionprocess to meet deadlines and budget
Regularly manage severalconsecutive projects and demonstrate good judgment in implementing methods andtechniques
Determine and offer appropriaterecommendations for delivery and methodologies (e.g., ILT, VLT, eLearning, WBT,video, resource materials) and outline device specific usage capabilities andrecommendations
Work collaboratively andeffectively with stakeholders, subject matter experts, across multiple functionsto provide pedagogical, technical consulting in order to design, develop, andimplement instructional content, courses, and projects that enrich learning
Communicate professionally andeffectively within the organization and with clients and address inquiries andproblem solve before escalating as appropriate
Able to proactively manageissues, risks, potential challenges, barriers and know when to communicateconcerns to appropriate stakeholders
Proven working experience ininstructional design and with a strong understanding of instructionaltechnology; Learning Management Systems, virtual spaces, simulations, and gamification
Fluent in current and emergingadult learning theories and instructional design models
Experienced in curriculum design;can write effective copy which can be translated into instructional text for aglobal audience at various levels with clarity and accuracy
Familiar with the functionalityof various multimedia tools, software, and graphics applications, such as (butnot limited to) : HTML5, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, andaudio post production software
Highly developed technical skillsin graphic design, video production, storyboarding, and creative development tobuild engaging video, impactful digital imagery, powerful eLearning solutions,podcasts, classroom, and webinar training content
Experience in ProjectManagement, with the ability to multi-task across multiple concurrent workstreams with strict attention to detail
Be self-motivated, flexible,highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing,deadline-oriented environment
Superior editing, writing, andcritical reasoning skills with outstanding interpersonal communication abilitiesthat demonstrate concise presentation of complex concepts
BA or other advanced degree in educationaltechnology, instructional design, graphic design, digital design, motiongraphics or illustration
5 years of instructional designand development experience
Expertise in Adobe Connect, Captivate,Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or other common course authoring software
Graphic Design certificationand / or experience (desired)
Basic HTML5 and programmingknowledge (desired)
Strong computer skills,specifically Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and otherworkflow and storyboard tools
Familiarity with currentlearning management systems and other learning platforms and technologies
