Developing roles and responsibilities for a key terminal for APM Terminals in the region.
The incumbent is expected to work closely with all departments to build a solid understanding of all service offerings to be able to offer integrated solutions.
Follow up with commercial activities and plans. Be creative in developing new value adding activities to strengthen ties with the market and look for new business opportunities.
The incumbent will be expected to work closely with different departments of the organization and creatively and proactively look for ways of improvement in our processs & systems, keeping the voice of the customer first.
Manage assigned customers and budget base, pursue and secure business in line with local and global strategic objectives.
Develop customer value propositions for all appropriate business opportunities.
Build and maintain a close relationship with assigned commercial accounts and understand their business, needs and pain points.
Research, monitor and analyse the industry trends and recommend appropriate measures.
Follow and monitoring marketing initiatives with different stakeholders.
Assist in special projects validating commercial needs for new solutions.
We are looking for
Requires a college degree in business, marketing or related discipline.
Requires at least two years of direct business development / marketing / sales experience in transportation, logistics or related industry.
Must have knowledge of the transportation industry, sales methods and practices, trends, and customers.
Must be familiar with best practices in the industry, with respect to marketing, sales, and business development.
Requires good verbal and written communications skills. Spoken and written Spanish and English is a must.
Requires good analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data. Must be able to use and prepare presentations, flow charts and market survey summaries.
Requires knowledge of the cross border and import & export cargo market in Central America, specifically in Nicaragua, Panama and Costa Rica.
Requires Commercial and operational knowledge of shipping of reefer commodities such as bananas and pineapples.
Knowldege of non-containerized cargo is a plus.
