Job Description :

  • The Process Control Lead Analyst is responsible for the administration, oversight and maintenance of the Finance and Risk Operations Audit / SOX program including;
  • Corrective Action Plan management, Audit Management and the reengineering, redesign and establishment of Key Risk indicators utilizing a variety of management metrics and tools utilized by FRO.

    The ideal candidate must be a strategic professional who advises on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application in own job and the business. Duties include :

  • Coordinate all Audit related engagements and deliverables both internal and external, including the preparation and Coordination of SOX deliverables to assist KPMG with annual SOX audit and related activities.
  • Oversee daily Risk and Control processes pertaining to Information Security, Continuity of Business, Audit Reporting and Compliance activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to Business Units regarding the implementation of operational risk policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage monthly metrics of audit universe and corrective action plans for Senior Management.
  • Provide support to the R&C Management in the implementation of Citi wide initiatives and projects including key corporate policies and procedures .
  • Develop effective working relationships with senior business management and strong understanding of strategies and emerging risks
  • Assist the line managers and the Center Head to identify Risk and Control gaps / weaknesses, analyze root cause, and develop robust and practical correction action plans to improve the quality and effectiveness of the control environment.
  • Independently assess the effectiveness of controls and determine the potential impact of any control failures and corrective actions required.
  • Manage and monitor control related initiatives, audit activities, corrective actions and communicate to staff & management about status, due dates, etc.
  • Co-ordinate periodic reporting; analyze self-assessment and audit results; and assist in formulating effective remedial solutions
  • Align the FRO internal self-assessment program with business monitoring and audit related focus activities.
  • Work with FRO business units to ensure they adhere to policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, with respect to Control and Operational Risk practices.
  • Ensures Control and IS issues are reported timely to Senior Management with appropriate documentation.
  • Provide counsel and advice on the interpretation of methodologies, policies and standards.
  • Hold regular meetings with the FRO process teams to discuss risk and control related activities; and work closely with them to instill a proactive risk management approach and awareness.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer focused working relationships with managers, customers, audit partners and other colleagues during the course of work.
  • Ensure departmental processes and procedures are current and assist management with reengineering efforts, as needed.

  • Knowledge / Experience :

    The ideal candidate will have highly analytical, management and communication skills. To qualify for this position you must have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in risk advisory, operational risk, compliance, and / or internal control related reporting functions within the banking industry and the following :

  • BS Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of audit experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Experience with applying principles, methods and techniques in the design and operation of process controls and their system components;
  • including business process and entity relationship analysis

  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance policies and processes and proficiency in risk and control related practices.
  • Capable of providing leadership in optimization and efficiencies in control practices for the business as well as the resolution of cross business issues.
  • Well versed in developing new ideas and improving current processes and proactively engages business and functional managers to mitigate risks.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Financial Control risks and controls for Financial Services companies.
  • Exposure to regulatory and control models.
  • Able to develop and produce monthly metrics.
  • Requires a collegial and service oriented demeanor and an ability to challenge existing conventions and make recommendation for improvement within FRO operating units.
  • Strong Presentation skills - comfortable with public speaking across various forums and be able to effectively and logically communicate when ideas are being challenged in an open forum
  • Able to identify trends and themes from high volume information sources and synthesize reports for easy consumption of senior business managers.
  • Skilled at building partnerships across functions and regions; collaborates well with others with experience working in cross-cultural global teams.
