The Learning and Development Business Partner works with senior management of their designated functional area(s) to define, prioritize, and drive global L&D strategy aligned to business objectives.

The Business Partner also collaborates with the L&D Portfolio Manager to scope and prioritize the solutions that will be developed and deployed via both the annual planning process and through on-

going request management. The Business Partner will lead business case creation and implementation by working with functional leaders, subject matter experts, learning designer(s), L&D program manager, and other stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Capture the business need for initiating a project and clearly define the desired business outcome
  • Define the desired employee performance behaviors needed to accomplish the business outcome and identify the gap(s) between desired employee performance and current employee performance
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine appropriate solutions package, at a high-level, to close the gap(s)
  • Work with Learning Designer(s) to define specific solutions package
  • Create and manage to a project plan for the development and deployment of the solutions, and report progress to stakeholders
  • Document all major decisions & rationale, projected & actual costs, risks, results, lessons learned, and maintenance plan
  • Influence and educate stakeholders across the entire process to reinforce the value of thorough analysis and to gain buy-in on the solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of current L&D portfolio and leverage current solutions where possible
  • Build relationships and effectively partner with groups outside of L&D that may need to produce solutions to fill the performance gaps (e.
  • g. HR Business Partners, Recruiting, functional leaders, etc.)

  • Work with functional leaders, HR Business Partners, and Compensation SMEs to conduct job analysis, create and maintain job skill matrices, success profiles, etc.
  • Provide support and consultation on change management initiatives within the function
  • Additional duties as needed :
  • oMay do some learning design & testing (but likely not eLearning production) if needed to load-balance

    oOne-on-one manager coaching on employee development

    oAssist with providing content or facilitation support for department team meetings / team building events

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years learning and development experience
  • Deep understanding of the business and ability to work effectively with functional leaders to identify the people performance implications of business goals and strategies
  • Deep knowledge and application in the practice of performance consulting, or the commitment to quickly gain this knowledge through extensive self-education
  • Foundational project management skills
  • Naturally curious, possesses the ability to dig deeper to understand complexities and distill into a simpler view
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Holistic View able to see big picture in perspective and be detail oriented in execution and providing direction
  • Manages and Measures Work understands objectives and diligently monitors processes, progress and results
  • Analytical appreciates the value of data analysis to provide critical metrics to show ROI
  • Resourceful, adaptable and results-oriented with high energy and a positive attitude
  • MS Project, MS Office expected.
  • Masters Degree
