Works as part of the Global Implementation / Service Transition Group, within Global Communications Information Security (GCIS), to engineer services to be delivered and operated in a globally consistent manner by Service Delivery / Operations.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES Implementation Engineering
Works on multiple simultaneous projects to implement new technologies and configuration in conjunction with other Network / Security Groups.
Serves as technical consultant on divisional network projects
Acts as a lead and subject expert for certain technologies / services within the group as assigned
Participates in the GCIS Security Release Management Process for New Services and ongoing Service Feature releases to include, but not limited to :
Working with Service Design on the initial service concept ensuring a handover to Service Transition
Working in a cross functional team to develop the service and required deliverables
Working with Service Delivery / Operations to train and handover the service such that it can be delivered and supported consistently
Participates in and applies the same Process for subsequent service releases as defined by the Service Roadmap
Acts an interface between Service Design and Service Delivery / Operations
Fourth Level Support
Provides 4th level support to Operations for escalated issues and drives these to resolution
Works with Design Engineering on chronic Problems
Experience with Routers, Switches, VRF
Cisco WAN (MPLS, Internet, IPSEC, Encapsulation), WAAS
Experience with Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls
Experience with F5 load balancer
Detailed understanding of the function and configuration of Cisco networking equipment
Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers in a large WAN environment
Administering and configuring layer 2 and layer 3 Cisco networks
Knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, BGP and EIGRP
Understanding of IP addressing including subnetting and supernetting
Provide proactive recognition and correction of network related problems
Ability to perform implementation activities outside of normal business hours
BA / BS in Information Systems or related area required
Cisco Qualifications, CCNA / CCNP Preferred
Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills
Advanced English language skills (verbal, reading, writing, understanding)
Experience of working in a global environment essential
Process Discipline and Documentation skills essential
Minimum of five years of experience in the implementation and operation of WAN / LAN networks with Cisco hardware
Minimum of two years of experience in the implementation and operation of Data Center Networks
Knowledge of ITIL v3 an advantage, but not necessary
