Job DescriptionThe Global KYC Program is the cornerstone of a strong AML program, enabling Citi to evaluate the risks associated with a relationship and ascertain the types of transactions in which a customer is likely to engage.
This critical position in Global KYC team will oversee the North America KYC Risk Evaluation (REM) activities in our Costa Rica hub.
The REM function is part of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) function, and is responsible for conducting Risk Evaluation reviews for certain new and existing high-
risk clients. Additionally, this position will be responsible for providing oversight for all Global KYC functions within the Costa Rica Hub and a site liaison.
Specific responsibilities include :
10+ years' relevant experience with minimum 6 years' experience in AML-related function required 3-5 years of management experience 5+ years of experience in an advisement role Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish) Banking or Consulting background strongly preferred Requires highly-
developed risk identification skills, organizational, communication, negotiating and partnership skills, the ability to problem solve, think strategically and escalate effectively to facilitate action, and to work to deadlines and conflicting priorities Highly developed inter-
personal skills, and the ability to manage relationships and persuade individuals with conflicting priorities are essential.
The ability to communicate to the senior executive level and to combine strategic thinking with focused execution is required Knowledgeable of the North America laws applicable to money laundering such as Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements along with Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements Recent working knowledge of relevant AML legislations and regulatory requirements General understanding of Senior Public Figures, Money Service Businesses, Wealth Management and Retail Banking preferred, as well as Citi lines of business, client categories and compliance within those business segments Experience in application of KYC / CDD / EDD requirements 6+ years' work experience in Compliance-
related functions within, but not limited to, the following areas : AML and / or Compliance and / or Risk management and / or Know your customer reviews / Enhanced Due Diligence for high risk accounts and / or Financial crime investigations Commitment to the understanding of country-
specific principles and business knowledge related to AML regulations Strong research skills, advanced skills in the use or in the outputs of Microsoft Office products and / or similar business systems, and in-
depth knowledge and experience with the Internet and on-line research systems Ability to independently refer to policies and procedures and put into context with regards to this role
