The Shared Services Center provides accounting services to the Americas region for Brightstar. The supporting functions include Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Reporting, Master Data Management, and Continuous Improvement.
These functions are enabled by Microsoft AX, Solomon and Oracle Hyperion. The center also provides support for certain transactions using legacy systems.
The GL Supervisor is accountable for transactional operations and closing activities monthly and year end, verifying correctness of reconciliation and reporting for Assets, Liabilities, Equity and overall accounts.
Must ensure SPP are applied across relevant accounting treatments and verify HFM reporting is accurate. Verify balance variances at month / year end.
Ensure US GAAP and GAAP local adherence in all accounting transactions.
Actively coordinate with Manager month end activities and ensure mitigation of deviations of calendar are addressed timely.
Reviews un-posted batches, journal entries, integrity reports, and accounts reconciliations and ensure its correctness.
Verify critical processes (such as expense allocation, multicurrency and recording of reserves, prepaid, provisions, liabilities, and amortization) are correctly done.
Ensures GL, AR and AP modules are closed on time and financial statements reports timely and accurately in HFM by signing off Financial Statements.
Verifies the integrity of Annual retained earnings.
Ensures all KPI are executed, met and remediate gaps to ensure outages are eliminated. Responsible for right US GAAP and local adherence in accounting transactions.
Ensures SOX and overall SPP policy compliance and support corporate or external audit processes.
Ensures team productivity, continuous improvement and ad-hoc analysis.
Verifies quality of process and data entry / input correctness from their team.
Ensures that services are provided per current SLA
Ensures Global Standard Policies relevant to their area, S-Ox 404 and local requirements are 100% compliant.
Organization management for performance reviews, vacation, overall work permits.
People management to ensure employee effectiveness (i.e. address employee opportunity areas timely).
Requirements / Skills
4 years of experience in general accounting in Shared Services and team management experience
English & Spanish fluency with verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting or related field.
USGAAP & IFRS knowledgeable
SAP / JDE / AX ERP knowledge
